Work

Since its raining all day here, I dont have much pictures from the beach to show.
But here are some pictures I took a while ago from the clinic.
so you can see what I am actually doing here most of the time.

 This is the practice.
and this is where I spend my lunch breaks :)
and of course also in the break room sometimes.

Me with my lovely work clothes
...making coffee. thats what I do the most. but not the best.
after almost 3,5 months the coffee still tastes 10x better when the secretary makes it for me.
well, my mom sais coffee always tastes better when someone else makes it.
and here's our dear secretary, Ani.

Safari tour

Sander invited me to a tour to the Hato caves and more.
It was nice to see a different part of the island.

This is how the jeep looked like in the beginning.

The roads were filled with water, so the drivers could have some fun.

and this is how the landscape looked like.
really dry with some green bushes here and there.

This is actually the entrance of a cave.
 This cave.

There were lots of bats!

 Turtle spotting

 Blow hole. or natural Jacuzzi.
This is where the blue room is.
You have to dive some meters under water to come to an open space under the hill.
Unfortunately the waves were to violent for us to go in there
but I heard its very special, with the sun shining in, making it all blue.

 These guys were crazy!
We had to drive threw this to come to
this beach:

It wasn't easy to capture the big waves on camera.
Some people had problems getting in to the beach again because of the current.

 BBQ :)

and this is how the jeep looked like in the end :/

Cas Abao

I was tired of going to the same places in the weekends,
so I convinced my dear neighbour to go to a different beach
even though we were the only ones.
First a trip to albert heijn. Its the same as in Holland, only more expensive.
I felt very dutch, buying all those things I normally buy in Holland.

We needed a map to go there
and even though the island is not that big and 'all roads lead to the beach',
we still made a big detour.
Hehe, what can you expect when I'm the map reader :p

We discovered some green parts of Curacao along the road.

The road down to the beach was a mud path. Luckily we had a jeep.

Finally there!
The weather was not the best, but we didn't care.
At least when its cloudy it's a more comfortable temperature.

Punda

Some weekends ago I went to Punda
with  Sjoerd
and Ruben.
Punda is the city of the island, or the center of willemstad.

It has beatiful coloured houses

and walls :)

here you can stand to speak your word.

the floating marked.
they bring amongst others fresh fish from Venezuela every day.
the non-floating marked.

From Punda you can cross the bridge to Otrobanda
which literally means 'other side'.

A nice day :)
